Oluwadamilare Igbayiloye holds a Masters Degree in Literature in Yoruba, she is passionate about communication in mother’s tongue, especially Yoruba language, this passion drove her to establish Akonilede Yoruba. She is an author of two Yoruba language books for beginners.

The FAQs below provide detailed information about this course, and they form the terms and conditions for the course. Please read them carefully before signing up for the course.

  • This course is designed for beginners or students who wants to learn from the scratch (refresher) between age 6 and 17. Students are grouped into different classes according to their age bracket.

  • Each group class will have a maximum of 10 students to keep the class interactive and effective. The course will only start when we have the maximum number of students or at the discretion of the school management, this will be communicated as required.

  • Classes will hold twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays. There will not be class on the last Saturday of every month and during specific holidays and breaks, this will be communicated ahead.

  • Students are encouraged to put plans in place to be available for all classes. However, a recording of the missed class will be made available for the student.

  • If a teacher is unavailable, a substitute will be assigned. Should a class be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, a recorded lesson will be made available for the students or the next class will be extended to cover the missed class. The adopted option will be communicated to the students.

  • Refunds are available within the first 2 classes subject to a 5% administrative fee. After 2 classes, payment are non-refundable as class preparation, teacher scheduling and learning materials are finalized.

  • Yes, we offer both group and personalized (private) class options. To register for a private class, please use this link: Personalized (Private) Class Option

  • Yes, you can. We strongly encourage families, friends and members of the same community to register together for the following reasons:

    • it is an opportunity to enjoy our maximum discount of 50%.

    • select your own preferred days and time that works for all the families, friends or community members

    • the students will be able to learn and practice together with familiar faces

    • achieve your family or community language goal

    • You don’t need to wait for the next cohort, you can start immediately.

    REQUIREMENT: To be eligible for this package, there must be a minimum of 10 students registering together to get started immediately.

    You can register as many students as you want, however, the class size may be up to 15 students. If you register more than 15 students, the class will be split into 2 or more depending on the number of students registered.
